Ben Farrar
On April 19th, 2015, Ben Farrar suffered a spinal cord injury during a trip to France with his high school at 18 years old. Ben and his friends had just finished playing soccer on the beach when they decided to go for a swim in the ocean. Ben was pulled down by an ocean wave and hit the sea floor, resulting in breaking his C5 vertebrae. The ambulance took him to the closest hospital, which was 45 minutes away, where he took residence for six and a half weeks. The injury left Ben a quadriplegic.
The Greg Hill Foundation hosted an on-air fundraiser to support Ben Farrar and his recovery. The outpouring support from the community is what provided Ben with the mental strength to continue to push on and work towards creating a new life for himself. Thanks to the generosity of Greg’s media audience, The Greg Hill Foundation was able to donate $44,372 to the Farrar Family.

I couldn’t help but sob over these incredible acts of human kindness from strangers that were all directed towards me. It was from that moment on that I knew I couldn’t let paralysis defeat me.”
