April Featured Beneficiary
On April 15th, 2013, tragedy struck Boston. At the finish line of the Boston Marathon, 3 were killed, hundreds were injured, and millions watched in fear. The smoke cleared, but a haze continued to sit over the City of Boston. Hospitals were filled with victims of the Bombing, loved ones were frantically searching for information, 17 perfectly healthy individuals were experiencing amputations, and families were mourning those who were lost too young. From tragedy rose triumph, as the City of Boston came together to support their neighbors and we became Boston Strong. We witnessed fearless bystanders and first responders rush towards the finish line to help those in need, relentless determination and inspiration from the healing survivors, and an entire city inspired to give back and support all who were impacted.
Just hours after the bombing, The Greg Hill Foundation launched an online fundraiser to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Immediately donations began to pour in and in a matter of weeks the foundation raised and donated $509,695.26 that was distributed to 61 different individuals and families. The foundation to this day still is supporting the Boston Marathon Survivors as it provides grants for items not covered by insurance.
